Transparent ABS (MABS)

Transparent ABS, also known as MABS, is a high‑performance material modified by introducing methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer based on conventional ABS. It combines high transparency and excellent mechanical properties, with light transmittance reaching approximately 90 %, comparable to transparent plastics such as PS and PMMA. It retains the original high‑impact resistance, rigidity and toughness of ABS. It also features high‑surface gloss, favorable chemical resistance, easy colorability and processability, as well as good heat resistance and dimensional stability.

Main Applications of Transparent ABS

Consumer Electronics & Home Appliances: Leveraging its transparent appearance and high‑gloss surface, it is widely used for mobile phone housings, earphone brackets, VR face shields, vacuum‑cleaner casings, transparent viewing windows for air‑conditioners, humidifiers and set‑top‑boxes.

Medical & Healthcare Sector: Benefiting from non‑toxicity, transparency and good inner‑part visibility, it is commonly adopted for transparent face shields, infusion observation windows, medical‑device housings, syringes and testing‑instrument components.

Automotive Industry: With good impact resistance and weather resistance, it is applied for instrument‑panel covers, interior decorative strips, lamp housings and various automotive parts requiring transparent appearance.

Daily‑use Goods & Toys: Owing to high gloss, non‑toxic property and rich color performance, it is widely used for cosmetic packaging boxes, high‑transparency containers, stationery, high‑grade toys and household articles.

Industrial & Display Applications: Frequently used for instrument viewing windows, safety protective covers, industrial models, prototype parts and transparent mechanical components for internal‑structure display.
